Hennepin County Medical Center Brand Audit

This large nonprofit hospital with a 125-year legacy faces multiple challenges of public funding cuts, increased competition for commercially insured patients and a new ownership/management structure.  HCMC’s position as the premier trauma and safety net hospital eclipses its nationally recognized expertise in other areas. With the Conga Brand Alignment Model as a guide, it was agreed that the initial step would be a “pre-wave brand audit” among community thought-leaders, measuring understanding of, appreciation for, and willingness to support the hospital.  This would provide baseline measures of perceptions to compare post-campaign, guide communication strategy by establishing priorities and help identify any specific opportunities or challenges in getting to community support.

Trane – CenTraVac Commercial Chillers and Complete HVAC Systems

Working through Trane agency Laurel Stephenson Productions (LSP), Conga was asked to lead development of a multiple brand strategy for this established industry leader.  Competitors had been taking advantage of a period of Trane’s marketplace silence to plant misinformation about Trane products and expertise, cooling off their industry-leading reputation and market share.  The challenge was to move from a defensive position and change the conversation to Trane product superiority and advanced environmental performance.  Trane also sought to move beyond its core business of chillers into sales of complete HVAC Systems and service contracts, areas of competitive strength.
